New, pending, closed listings all decline annually in Houston

The Houston Weekly Activity Snapshot from the Houston Association of REALTORS.

Market activity dipped in Houston during the week ended Oct. 5, according to the latest Weekly Activity Snapshot from the Houston Association of REALTORS®.

New listings decreased 3% year over year as sellers added 3,530 properties to the MLS, down from 3,640 during the same week in 2025.

Both pending and closed home sales also fell: Pending listings dropped 23% year over year, with buyers contracting on 1,661 homes during the week, while closings decreased 1.5% to 2,037.

Showings, open houses and listing views on HAR.com all declined annually as well amid the market slowdown. Showings and open houses decreased by 5.5% and 6.8%, respectively, while listing views dropped 16.8%.
