Closed Houston home sales jump 12.3%

Houston home sales increased 12.3% year over year during the week ended Aug. 25, according to the Weekly Activity Snapshot from the Houston Association of REALTORS®.

Homebuyers closed on 1,767 properties, up from 1,573 during the same week the year prior. Pending listings stagnated, however, with 2,088 listings going under contract, down from 2,100 a year ago.

Meanwhile, new listings rose 3.1% year over year as Realtors added 3,552 properties to the MLS.
