Misty Bacon
Broker/Owner
Bacon Realty Group LLC
The feeling of pride and excitement that people feel when they own a home is the best part of real estate for Misty Bacon, broker and owner of Bacon Realty Group LLC. “It’s truly a joy to see people get what they desire,” she says. During her 10 years in real estate — first with Real Estate Connection International, then Tarl Anderson Properties and now her own brokerage — this dedication, compassion and commitment to strong customer service have helped her succeed and will surely propel her into a bright future.
Clients say that she puts their needs first and is readily available to assist them throughout the transaction. Her real estate slogan — “Remember, everybody loves bacon!” — has held true since she opened her own brokerage last summer, just ask any of her clients. “I am the queen of communication and follow-up,” Bacon said and client reviews share the same sentiment.
Bacon serves the markets of South East Houston, Greater Clear Lake, League City, Galveston County, Pearland, Friendswood, La Porte, Deer Park and Pasadena. “Eighty-five percent of my business is referrals from clients, friends, family, former classmates and past co-workers.”
Bacon humbly admits that opening her brokerage “was the scariest thing I’ve done so far in my career, taking the leap of owning and growing a company.” She does not consider herself a sales person, but an advocate for her clients making sure their best interest and needs are met. She understands the weightiness of purchasing a home and what a huge decision and investment it is, as well as an honor it is to serve her clients while building lasting relationships.
A graduate of Stephen F. Austin State University with dual bachelor’s degrees in communications and public relations, Bacon worked as a radio deejay and had dreams of becoming a news reporter. Before entering real estate, she worked in New York, Los Angeles, and Texas in marketing and sales in radio, human resources, staffing and recruiting.
In 2009, Bacon began working as the Group Sales Manager at Schlitterbahn Galveston Island Waterpark while simultaneously building her real estate business. “Several people over the course of a few years said I would be great as a Realtor. I was fortunate to have a League City Broker who encouraged me and took me under their wing,” she says.
Bacon is a member of several real estate associations including the National Association of Realtors, the Texas Association of Realtors and the Houston Association of Realtors. To enhance her knowledge and better serve her clients, Bacon earned several designations including Graduate Real Institute, Seniors Real Estate Specialist and Accredited Buyers Representative. She is also a graduate of the 2016 Texas Realtors Leadership Program.
In 2017, the National Association of Realtors appointed Bacon to serve as the Federal Political Coordinator for Congressman Randy Weber, 14th District for Texas. In addition, Bacon has served as the 2017 chair for the Bay Area Political Affairs Advisory Leadership of the Houston Association of Realtors. “I’ve served on the advisory group for last four years. We conduct candidate interviews and make TREPAC contribution recommendations to the HAR Board of Directors for local, state, and federal elections,” she says. “Exposure to HAR’s political process has helped to open my eyes to the positive difference Realtors can make when we speak with one voice in the legislative process.”
Bacon volunteers with Crisis Response International, CASA of Galveston County and sponsors a child in Haiti with Compassion International. She is passionate about painting and photography and she participates in a monthly women’s Bible study group with fellow real estate colleagues.
