Paul Sellers is a numbers man to the core. He’s worked in the mortgage lending business for 25 years, and as the vice president of mortgage lending at Guaranteed Rate, he helps a diverse array of clients secure the loans they need for the properties they want.

Specializing in renovation, VA, FHA and conventional loans, as well as down payment assistance, Sellers takes a consultative approach to finding appropriate lending solutions. “I enjoy talking and interacting with people,” he says. “I spend time with my borrowers to make sure I understand what they want to accomplish.”

Sellers prioritizes educating his clients, clarifying any false assumptions and filling gaps in knowledge to enable informed decisionmaking. Available at all hours to answer questions, he aims to provide efficient yet personalized service.

“I understand the emotional rollercoaster and stress of buying a home, and I try to eliminate that upfront,” Sellers says. “This is one of the most expensive decisions that my client is going to make, and I love that they trust me to help them. The gratitude borrowers show me when we’re closing is the greatest reward for me.” Even after all these years, Sellers remains personally invested in his clients, many of whom have become his friends.

He points to one challenging case as affirmation that he’s chosen the right path: “I helped a single mom purchase her first house,” he says. “She was able to purchase her house.
