Stacy Gonzalez Realtor, Business Owner and Business Broker

NB Elite Realty

What was your most interesting job before going into real estate?
Director of communications for the Texas House of Representatives

Where did you grow up?
Crosby

Growing up, what did you want to be?
A surgeon or cardiologist, then realized I had a strong entrepreneurial streak mixed in with law and advocacy.

What do you do to relax when you’re stressed?
A good strength training session, dancing or taking a walk or going on a run always helps me reset. Movement clears my head. Sometimes I’ll unwind with my son, watch something light or go for a long drive with music and no destination in mind, or cafe hop.

If you could meet any well-known figure (living or not), who would it be and why?
Codie Sanchez. I admire her directness, strategy and courage to challenge traditional paths. She represents what it means to build wealth with purpose and think independently — traits I live by in business and in life.

What is Houston’s best kept secret?
The diversity of small, locally-owned restaurants and coffee shops hidden in The Heights and East End.

What do you love most about the industry?
The relationships. Every transaction has a story — a new chapter in someone’s life. I love being part of that journey and helping people feel empowered through ownership and opportunity.

What is the most difficult aspect of your job?
Balancing the emotional side of real estate with the business side. You carry your clients’ hopes and anxieties, and it’s important to stay grounded while still giving your full heart to the process.

What’s your best advice for generating new leads?
Be authentic and consistent. People can sense when you genuinely care. Focus on building real connections and adding value — not just chasing numbers. Your energy attracts the right clients.

What are you binge-watching/reading/listening to?
I’m listening to “The Game” podcast with Codie Sanchez. It’s full of strategy, mindset and business talk.

What’s your favorite meal in Houston?
Dinner at Musaafer. It’s not just food, it’s an experience.

Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in Houston?
The Williams Tower. It’s timeless and elegant — a symbol of Houston’s ambition and modern growth.

What’s the weirdest thing that’s ever happened to you on the job?
I once walked into a showing where a seller forgot we were coming. They were in the middle of cooking dinner and just waved us in like it was completely normal. The buyers still made an offer!

What’s one thing people might be surprised to learn about you?
That I used to work in politics.

What is your favorite vacation spot and why?
I love traveling somewhere with cool weather, character and a good balance of peace and inspiration, like New York in the spring or wine country in the fall. I’m not a summer person, so I gravitate toward places where I can layer up, explore and recharge creatively without the heat.

In 10 words or less, what is your advice for someone new to the industry?
Be consistent, stay authentic and relationships will build your business.

Who are your favorite people to follow on social media?
Codie Sanchez is a big one. Her business mindset and no-nonsense approach always push me to think bigger. I also follow real estate leaders, marketing strategists and women entrepreneurs who keep it real about growth, balance and mindset.
