What was your most interesting job before going into real estate?
Before real estate, I worked as a CPA. I still use that experience every day when I’m helping clients understand numbers, negotiate and make confident financial decisions. It gave me a strong foundation, but I missed the people side of the business.

Where did you grow up?
I grew up in Niš, Serbia. It’s where I learned the value of hard work, family and perseverance. Later, volleyball brought me to the U.S., and Houston eventually became home.

Growing up, what did you want to be?
I always wanted to be a businesswoman. Even as a kid, I loved the idea of building something of my own and creating opportunities instead of waiting for them.

What do you do to relax when you’re stressed?
Beach volleyball is my favorite way to reset. If I’m not on the sand, I’m spending time with my husband and our three girls or sneaking away to the mountains or the beach whenever I get the chance.

If you could meet any well-known figure (living or not), who would it be and why?
Nikola Tesla. As a fellow Serb, I’ve always admired his brilliance, curiosity and ability to think far beyond his time. I’d love to spend just one afternoon talking with him about innovation, resilience and how he imagined the future long before anyone else could.

What is Houston’s best kept secret?
Its diversity. You can experience cultures, food and people from all over the world without ever leaving the city. It’s one of the reasons I love calling Houston my second home.

What do you love most about the industry?
No two days are ever the same. I get to meet incredible people, solve problems, negotiate and help clients through one of the biggest milestones in their lives. It’s challenging, rewarding and never boring.

What is the most difficult aspect of your job?
Real estate is emotional. Buying or selling a home is a major life decision, and every client has different priorities and concerns. My job is to stay calm, guide them through the process, and make sure they feel confident every step of the way.

What’s your best advice for generating new leads?
Be genuine and stay consistent. People don’t choose an agent because of one social media post. They choose someone they know, trust and remember. Focus on building relationships, and the business will follow.

What are you binge-watching/reading/listening to?
Lately, I’ve been listening to a lot of business and real estate podcasts, along with parenting podcasts. I also enjoy reading books on parenting, negotiation and personal growth. I love learning things I can actually apply in everyday life, both at work and at home.

What’s your favorite meal in Houston?
That’s a tough one because Houston has one of the best food scenes anywhere. I love Mexican cuisine, fresh oysters and Korean BBQ, so I’m always excited to try a new restaurant. The only thing I feel Houston is missing is a truly great Serbian restaurant … so if anyone is looking for a business idea, there you go!

Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in Houston?
The Williams Tower. It’s elegant, timeless and instantly recognizable. Every time I drive through Uptown, it reminds me how much Houston has grown into a world-class city.

What’s the weirdest thing that’s ever happened to you on the job?
It’s hard to pick just one! I’ve had deer casually walk through the backyard during a showing, and I’ve even arrived for a showing while the seller was still in the shower. Real estate definitely keeps you on your toes. Every day is a new adventure.

What’s one thing people might be surprised to learn about you?
People are usually surprised to learn that I’m a CPA, a Mensa member and a former Division I volleyball player. Looking back, each chapter taught me something I still use in real estate today.

What is your favorite vacation spot and why?
Greece. I love the crystal-clear water, incredible food, rich history and relaxed pace of life. It’s the perfect place to unplug, spend time with family and recharge.

In 10 words or less, what is your advice for someone new to the industry?
Build relationships, stay consistent, never stop learning and be authentic!

Who are your favorite people to follow on social media?
I enjoy following people who inspire me to grow, whether it’s in business, parenting, health, travel or investing. My feed is a mix of real estate professionals, entrepreneurs, athletes and parenting experts.
