Mack F. Blankenship Jr., Vice President of Mortgage Lending

Guaranteed Rate

Mack F. Blankenship Jr., widely known as #mortgagemack, has been working in the mortgage lending industry for 29 years. During this time, he has gained extensive experience in all loan programs. As a vice president of mortgage lending at Guaranteed Rate, he serves the Houston area as his primary market, as well as the Dallas metropolitan area, though he also can assist clients in all of Texas and nearly every other state.

Originally an advertisement salesperson for a local Houston magazine, Blankenship found his start in the lending business when a conversation to sell an advertisement took a different turn. “I had an appointment with then-VP of America’s Choice Home Lending, Paul St. Amand, to sell him an ad in the magazine I represented,” he recalls, “but before I knew it, I was beginning to plan my new start in lending.”

Working overtime and through holidays to support his family and build a client base, Blankenship had to put his strong work ethic to the test at the beginning of his career. He further developed his skills and commitment to exhaust all regulatory avenues to get his buyers approved and close loans. “I had a wife and three little boys at home … not closing was not an option,” he says.

Still remembering what it takes to deliver success to his clients, Blankenship has been recognized through various awards for his work in lending, including a nomination for loan officer of the year in 2023. Outside the office, he has succeeded as a seven-time Ironman finisher and served as a guide for blind athletes in both the 2012 Boston Marathon and the 2014 Paralympic National trials (the latter of which fed into the first-ever Summer Paralympic Games paratriatholon, held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in 2016). He enjoys spending time with his family above all.
