As a young girl, Therese Landa always liked looking at homes and took great pleasure in lending a hand whenever someone needed assistance. Landa, broker/owner with Houstonian Properties, parlayed those two interests into a career when she began working in real estate 30 years ago. A native Houstonian, she enjoys showing first-time to move-up and luxury buyers and sellers what makes Greater Houston and the surrounding areas — Memorial, Spring Branch, the Heights, Garden Oaks and Inner Loop — special places to call home.
Real estate is the only career Landa has ever known. With nearly three decades of experience in it, she is capable of handling the most difficult transactions. “There is not too much I haven’t seen,” she says. Landa enjoys educating clients on the process, showing them graphs and teaching them industry lingo so that they don’t get lost in the language and are prepared to handle every step that leads to the closing table.
“I treat them like family, from the beginning of the relationship until well after the sale,” Landa notes. With a reputation for being honest and straightforward, she often has clients tell her, “I’m glad you’re on my side!” The lasting bonds she has built with clients over the years has resulted in 80% of her business being based on referrals and repeat customers.
A member of the Houston Association of Realtors, Tom Ferry Elite+ and Houston Broker Mastermind, Landa has been recognized as a top 1 percent of agents in the June edition of Texas Monthly for the past nine years. Outside of work, she supports several charities, including the Houston Humane Society, the American Cancer Society and the nonprofit CanCare. Through her volunteer work, she recently helped bring an abused dog with sores all over its body back to health.
