Gezella’s award was announced Jan. 12 during the NAHB’s International Builders Show in Orlando. The Nationals Gold Awards is the nation’s largest competition for new-home sales and marketing professionals. Gezella competed against four other finalists from across the nation to win.

“I credit my success as a sales manager to my sales team,” Gezella said. “We have an incredible group of people focused not only on individual success, but also team success. That dedication and belief in our product serves our buyers well.”

Gezella has twice been named Sales Manager of the Year in the NAHB’s Silver Awards, the prelude to the Gold Awards, having also earned the honor in 2008. He was named Sales Manager of the Year during the 2009 and 2006 Texas Star Awards (Texas Association of Builders) and during the 2009 Houston’s Best Awards (Greater Houston Builders Association) and 2008 PRISM Awards (GHBA).

Gezella has been involved in new-home sales in Houston since 1993. As a former employee of three major home builders, he set sales records and earned numerous awards, including the GHBA’s Million Dollar Sales Award for six consecutive years.

Gezella received a Bachelor of Arts degree in industrial design from Southern Illinois University and earned a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Texas at Tyler. He is currently working on a Ph.D. in organization and management. Additionally, he is certified in the following specialties: new-home sales (MSCP and CSP) marketing (CMP) and aging in place (CAPS), and is a certified national trainer for the NAHB.
