The Woodlands Development Co. and M/I Homes have teamed up to build one of three GHBA homes for the Benefit Homes Project this year.

The Woodlands Development Co. (TWDC) and M/I Homes have teamed up to build one of three Greater Houston Builders Association (GHBA) homes for its Benefit Homes Project this year.

Each year, homes are built for the Benefit Homes Project with materials and services donated by GHBA members. The homes are sold at market value, and the majority of the proceeds are donated to charity. The three 2013 beneficiaries are Texas Children’s Cancer Center, the Alzheimer’s Association and HomeAid Houston. Since the Project began 33 years ago, more than $8 million has been raised.

“The Woodlands Development Co. is proud to join M/I Homes in sponsoring the 2013 GHBA Benefit Homes Project,” said Tim Welbes, co-president of TWDC to the Houston Chronicle. “We wholeheartedly support the GHBA’s mission to promote the American dream of homeownership while providing assistance to local nonprofit organizations.”

TWDC donated the homesite in the neighborhood of Jagged Ridge in the Village of Creekside Park. M/I Homes has begun construction on its Steffany II community. M/I Homes is donating the construction management for the project.
