A penthouse in the acclaimed Astoria high-rise recently sold for $6.9 million, marking the second-priciest penthouse sold in Houston, according to the Houston Association of REALTORS® Multiple Listing Service.

The residence was listed by Nancy Almodovar, CEO of Nan and Company Properties

“The luxury market in Houston is on fire,” Almodovar said in a press release. “While Texas is topping news headlines as one of the No. 1 states people are moving to, the demand is being fueled by local and out-of-town buyers alike. We are so proud to represent Houston’s most exclusive top properties and showcase everything our incredibly diverse city has to offer.”

The full-floor penthouse contains six bedrooms and six bathrooms in a 9,500-square-foot open concept layout.

Designed by Laura U Design Collective, the condo’s private elevator leads to an entryway featuring Italian Bardiglio marble flooring and a four-screen video wall. Beyond the entrance is a living area with high ceilings, four-inch oak hardwood floors and vast windows providing views of the city

The penthouse’s modern kitchen, which boasts sleek custom Eggersman cabinetry and quartz countertops, is equipped with stainless steel Miele appliances, a 48-inch range and pot-filler and a butler’s catering kitchen.

Other highlights in the unit include a movie screening room, 3-D golf simulator room, sauna and steam room and 1,300 square feet of private outdoor space with a pool overlooking the city.
