HAR leader Bob Hale named one of the most powerful people in real estate

by Emily Marek

Houston Association of REALTORS® President and CEO Bob Hale was ranked No. 30 in the 2023 Swanepoel Power 200 (SP 200) list, the 10th time he’s made the ranking of the most powerful people in real estate.

Among organized real estate leaders, Hale ranked No. 4.

“We could not be more proud of Bob for once again receiving this prestigious recognition for the incredible work he does on behalf of HAR and the real estate industry as a whole,” said HAR chair Cathy Treviño.

The firm behind the rankings, T3 Sixty, cited Hale’s “charisma,” as well the respect he garners across the country, in explaining his placement on the SP 200. The residential real estate research website also noted that HAR.com is “the only local Realtor association site that regularly ranks among the nation’s 25 most visited real estate websites.”

In addition to the honor from T3 Sixty, Hale was named an Inman Power Player. The award recognizes trailblazers, or “power players,” in real estate.

“It’s appropriate to start the year with the naming of Inman Power Players — the leaders whose ingenuity, strength, conviction and persistence are driving change across our industry,” said Inman CEO Emily Paquette. “These are the best of the best.”

Hale became president and CEO of HAR in 1988. Under his leadership, the organization has grown to be the second-largest real estate association in the country.
