New listings are down by 4% year over year in Houston, according to the Houston Association of REALTORS® Weekly Activity Snapshot for the week ended July 24. A total of 3,417 listings were entered into the Multiple Listing Service.

Meanwhile, pending listings remain unchanged from 2022 levels with 2,354 listings going under contract during the week.

Closings are also down for the 29th consecutive week. There were 1,872 home sales during the week, down 4.7% from the amount sold during the same week last year.

Continuing a trend seen throughout the summer, traffic at showings is higher than it was in 2022. Over 43,000 property showings occurred during the week, up 11.8% year over year.
