New listings in Houston increased by 13.8% during the week ended Dec. 11, according to the Weekly Activity Snapshot from the Houston Association of REALTORS® (HAR).

Realtors entered 2,350 properties into the MLS during the week, up from 2,065 during the same week in 2022. That marks the 12th straight week of year-over-year increases.

Both pending and closed listings saw marginal decreases during the week, however. Pending listings decreased by 1.7% with 1,666 properties going under contract; closings fell 0.9% with 1,317 homes sold.

Consumer interest surpassed 2022 volumes again. Traffic at property showings increased by 4.3% year over year, while listing views on HAR.com increased by 3.2%.
