What was your most interesting job before going into real estate?
I once worked for Jobsparx Magazine. I was the youngest person they’d ever hired but I was fired in 30 days because I couldn’t understand the concept of what we were actually selling and cold calling for.

Where did you grow up?
Cypress, and very proud!

Growing up, what did you want to be?
I wanted to be an optometrist! However after graduating high school, the years of college sounded daunting.

What do you do to relax when you’re stressed?
I head to my nearest spa! Whether it’s a massage or sitting in the sauna for a bit, that’s my choice of relaxation — combined with a sweet treat of course!

If you could meet any well-known figure (living or not), who would it be and why?
Jeff Goldblum. He’s a Hollywood legend with a great sense of style, humor and music!

What is Houston’s best kept secret?
I am a sushi lover, so I’d have to go with Sushi by Hidden! It’s a sushi omakase experience that’s a speakeasy behind an art gallery. There’s only room for about 12 people and the sushi is phenomenal, as well as the customers service!

What do you love most about the industry?
All the people you get to meet! There’s so many networking opportunities in real estate and there’s always an event. It’s the best part of the industry!

What is the most difficult aspect of your job?
I’d say the pressure to maintain a level of perfection in your personal life. Nothing is more important than your client’s transaction!

What’s your best advice for generating new leads?
Get out your house and meet people! Join a club, group, board … be active! The more people you meet, the closer your next lead is.

What are you binge-watching/reading/listening to?
I have two kids so naturally we are all about “KPop Demon Hunters.” Once I get alone time, I’m able to binge watch “Upload” on Apple TV. I love the concept!

What’s your favorite meal in Houston?
I’d have to say the beef fajita nachos from Soto’s on Grant Rd, followed by Connie’s custard. It’s the ultimate meal.

Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in Houston?
The Lanier Theological Library! Another Houston hidden gem.

What’s the weirdest thing that’s ever happened to you on the job?
During Covid, I once conducted a zoom showing while the sellers hid throughout the home! I was completely unaware until I got to the closet and saw someone’s feet hiding behind the shoes. There’s never a dull day in real estate!

What’s one thing people might be surprised to learn about you?
I am obsessed with Waffle House! I even have a painting of Waffle House in my dining room painted by the Houston artist, Jim Koehn.

What is your favorite vacation spot and why?
I love staycations so for me, the more local the better! Fredericksburg, Austin, anywhere in the Texas hill country — it’s close, easy to get to and perfect for a quick getaway.

In 10 words or less, what is your advice for someone new to the industry?
Trust is your strongest currency in real estate.

Who are your favorite people to follow on social media?
@houstonhotspots and @yoleendadong of course!

What are your social media handles?
Instagram: @realtorzaynah
