Specializing in single-family homes (both resale and new construction), McFarland is equally adept at serving buyers and sellers, and knows the value of marketing herself online. Her personal website not only offers access to listings, but a great deal of local information about schools and city services, as well.
Prior to her successful career in real estate, the Pearland native was an environmental assessor – an experience that has helped her many times when selling properties. She is also a blogger and shares all sorts of helpful tips on her website, from curbside recycling to the location and dates of the local farmer’s market. McFarland is especially proficient at finding homes for first-time buyers and people relocating to the Pearland area – a region that also encompasses Silverlake, Friendswood, Manvel, Shadow Creek, Rosharon, Clear Lake and Alvin. She understands the challenges people face when house hunting from afar, and does her best to make the experience enjoyable and stress free. It is a testament to McFarland’s character and reputation that clients often become close friends, and those relationships drive the growth of her business. She has sold a couple of homes multiple times, and often sells to clients’ children and other family members. McFarland likes to see people fall in love with a home, considering it is the most significant investment a family will ever make. She is also careful to counsel wisely if something does not feel right about a transaction, believing it is truly important to be straightforward and honest.
McFarland has been married to her best friend Stephen for almost three decades, and they have four wonderful children who have all grown up in Pearland. Her favorite things about real estate are the closing table and celebrating the optimism of her clients and their families. Aside from her own family – her biggest source of inspiration and love – McFarland likes to give back to the community. She served for many years on the board at the Adult Reading Center, and currently helps with the Pearland Neighborhood Center and the Brazoria County Emergency Management Team. Her advice to anyone entering the field of real estate is to take classes, go to conventions, follow the lead of a top producer, and most important, love what you do.
