Cannon Realty & Associates
There are more than 3,000 real estate professionals working in Houston, and Michelle Cannon stands out among them. She’s been named to RE/MAX’s list of top 250 teams nationwide, and featured as one of Houston’s Top Young Professionals by H-Texas magazine. She has a plethora of professional memberships and designations, including Graduate Realtor Institute, Certified Residential Specialist, Certified Negotiation Expert, Accredited Luxury Home Specialist and Accredited Buyer’s Representative designations.
Perhaps most impressively, Cannon operates her own brokerage, Cannon Realty & Associates, which she founded in 2011 in The Woodlands. Since it opened, Cannon Realty & Associates has ranked in the top 10 percent of brokerages for Houston, Spring and The Woodlands every single year, and has even been in the top 3 to 4 percent of brokerages in the Houston Metroplex area for the past three years – both incredible accomplishments in a market with such strong competition. Her brokerage has achieved consistent, steady growth each year, and now has around 30 agents, whom Cannon considers it an honor to help mentor. “I really enjoy being my agents’ mentor and helping them succeed,” she says. “My mentors played such a vital role in my success, and I want to be able to give that back to my agents.”
As a Realtor, Cannon specializes in residential properties, or what she would call the most exciting and rewarding side of the industry. “Each client is different from another, and each home is different from another; you never feel like you are doing the same job over and over again,” she says. With her attention to detail and tremendous organizational skills, her clients feel secure in the knowledge that they’re in good hands, receiving services tailored to their specific needs. Although she says that juggling her brokerage with her own clients is quite a bit of work, Cannon relishes the learning experience. “It challenges me every day, but I would not trade it,” she says. “I’m constantly learning and growing through my successes as a Realtor and as a broker. In turn, I can share those successes with my clients and agents.”
Along with all her professional success, Cannon is a devoted wife and mother, and considers her family her greatest inspiration. “They have always been so supportive of my business, and my time spent in the evenings and weekends helping my clients,” she says. “My husband encourages me daily and is always there for me. I would not be a success without them.” Cannon is also an ardent community advocate. Currently, she and her youngest daughter are involved in the National Charity League, a mother/daughter program that focuses on community service and leadership development.
