Shawn Manderscheid has 18 years of real estate experience, was named the No. 1 producer in the entire Houston area for Coldwell Banker United, and ranks among the top 1 percent of the brokerage’s agents in both the city and worldwide. He is a standout Houston agent and was named one of the Houston Association of Realtors’ “Top 20 Under 40.” Still, even with so many accolades, Manderscheid says that his HAR client rating of 4.96 out of five is his most important accomplishment.
Manderscheid’s roots in the real estate industry go deep. Real estate has been a part of his family for as long as he can remember – his mother has had her license for more than 40 years. “I was simply trying my hand at the family business as the opportunity was available to see how I liked it,” he says of getting his start in the industry. “It fit me like a glove, and I never looked back!”
Though he’s worked with a wide variety of locales and clients in his time, today, Manderscheid focuses mainly on the Greater Heights, Rice Military, Oak Forest and Garden Oaks areas, where he does around 75 percent of his business. “I excel in this area because it is where I spend nearly all of my time,” he says. “In so many areas, my success has come from understanding how to specialize and not trying to cover more area than I am comfortable with, and thereby spreading myself too thinly.” Manderscheid prides himself on being an expert on the areas he serves. He’s also taken 350 hours of real estate courses to further his knowledge of the industry.
Manderscheid brings a creative, innovative approach to his business that combines the latest tech with good old-fashioned straightforwardness, intuition, and common sense. “Real estate professionals typically are either very experienced, older and out of touch with technology…or inexperienced, young and high-tech,” he says. “At 39 years old, I have been in the business for 18 years and offer an uncommon blend of wisdom in real estate with cutting-edge tools and technology.”
When he is not working, Manderscheid loves to spend time with his wife, who he says has been critical to his career success. He also enjoys playing with his two rescue dogs.
