Fortunately, this is not the Fiesta Mart that will be demolished.

Bulldozers have finally begun to demolish the Montrose Fiesta grocery store, which has been closed for more than a year, according to Culture Map Houston. Fiesta has occupied a place in the shopping center that was formerly a 1962 Weingarten grocery store since 1994. Some work was done on the site in March, but the bulk of demolition has only begun recently.

Real estate developer Finger Companies plans to build a 6 to 8 story luxury apartment complex over the site that will be completed by next June.

The lot sits across from the H-E-B Montrose Market.
