Mayor Parker and Houston City Council recently acknowledged the commendable work of a local property manager.

Alan Schnur, co-founder of Houston-based Hot Ocean Properties, a residential property management firm that oversees more than 2000 units and 400 homes between Houston and Los Angeles, was honored for his company’s determination to offer cost-friendly, comfortable housing for area families.

Nine families in particular were recent beneficiaries of Schnur’s efforts. Desperate to leave the crumbling Crestmont Village apartment complex, each family found affordable living through the guidance of Schnur and the Hot Ocean Properties team.

Dave Anderson, Schnur’s partner in establishing the firm, said real estate is indeed a profit driven business like most, but the clients – the people – are at the heart of it. People have needs, and it’s that simple fact that pushed Schnur to get involved with the Crestmont Village families.

“Everyone needs a place to call home,” Schnur said.
