Judith Everett is a Realtor for RE/MAX Fine Properties in Fort Bend County.

What was your first job in the realty industry?
I went from real estate school directly to RE/MAX Fine Properties in Sugar Land where I began selling and listing homes in Fort Bend County and surrounding areas.

Where did you grow up?
I grew up in East Texas. I am from Longview, Texas and graduated from Longview High School. I attended Kilgore Jr. College.

What do you do to relax when you’re stressed?
Real estate is stressful and it’s hard to step away from it for any period of time. I love what I do and I feel like I need to be accessible at all times for my clients. I enjoy reading my Bible when I am stressed. I find that it calms and relaxes me. I also have a dog that I like to walk and that clears my mind when I am feeling stressed.

Growing up, what did you want to be?
As long as I can remember, I was good in selling things. I sold Girl Scout cookies and different things for school fund raisers. I enjoy sales and always have so I guess I am doing what I was meant to do. I have never wanted to do anything else. Real estate was natural for me. I am a decorator, have been around construction all my life (my Dad was in construction) and I enjoy helping make people’s dreams come true. I especially love my first-time buyers. They are so much fun and seem to love the experience of owning a home.

If you could have lunch with a well-known figure (living or not), who would it be and why?
I believe you can learn from everyone you meet in life. If I had to name one person that I would like to have lunch with, it would be Jesus Christ. What an amazing experience that would be!

Where is your favorite place to hang out?
I love hanging out in my home. I enjoy cooking and gardening and just being at home. I believe that a person’s home should be filled with family and friends and good memories.

What do you love most about the industry?
Meeting new people and developing relationships in the course of finding and purchasing a home is what I enjoy most about real estate.

How do you distinguish yourself from the crowd of agents?
My clients work directly with me. I am always available and encourage my clients to feel free to call me if they have a question or concern. I am local, I understand the market and I know the business. I am dedicated to serving my clients’ needs. This is not just a job…it is my passion.

What is the most difficult aspect of your job?
Not everyone can qualify for a loan. So many people really want to buy a home and it is hard for them to get one.

Where do you go to network and meet new clients?
I am networking and meeting people everywhere I go. I have no problem talking to complete strangers and letting them know what I do. I love people. I volunteer for several community organizations and give back when I have the opportunity.

What has been your greatest accomplishment?
My greatest accomplishment is my beautiful daughter. She is grown and married and recently became a Realtor. I am so proud of her and the many accomplishments she has made in her life.

What is your favorite restaurant?
I love all kinds of food…the small “hole in the wall” places sometimes have the best food!

Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in Houston?
Downtown Houston is amazing…there are so many beautiful buildings!

What kind of car do you drive?
I drive an Infiniti Sedan.

Smartphone or Paper?
Love my Smartphone!

What is your favorite city after Houston?
Sugar Land.

What is your advice for someone new to the industry?
Education – you simply must stay up on changing regulations and things that are happening in real estate. Other people’s investments are depending on you as an agent!

What’s your favorite real estate iPhone/Android app?
Chicago Agent.
