Every week, we ask a real estate professional for their Short List, a collection of tips and recommendations on an essential topic in real estate. This week, we spoke with Kelly Lark, a Realtor with United Real Estate, shares her general tips for effective agents.
3. Handling new construction – Never be the agent that only shows up when the contract is signed and not follow the construction process with your clients. I meet my clients one day a week the first few weeks at the home/worksite to check on the progress and see if they have any questions. I make calls to the sales office for my clients so they never feel abandoned. Finish what you start.
2. Don’t take it personally – It is always a challenge to work with the public and if you have a client with a strong personality, make sure you take the time to listen to what they are really asking or have to say. Be a great listener and never interrupt there venting process.
1. Distinguish yourself – Customer service is very important in such a competitive market. Without it, people will just move on to the next agent.
