Agent Snapshot: Danielle Stokes, Realtor, Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Gary Greene, Houston

by James McClister

Danielle Stokes

Danielle Stokes is a Realtor with Better Homes and Gardens Gary Greene working in Houston.

What was your first job in the realty industry? I jumped right into residential home sales with BHGRE.

What do you do to relax when you’re stressed? I try my best to not let stress get the best of me but when I feel myself becoming overwhelmed I will go workout, catch dinner and a movie, or call my mom!

Where did you grow up? I’m born and raised in Houston.

Growing up, what did you want to be? Growing up I wanted to be a psychiatrist. I always wanted to help people overcome any difficulties they were facing.

If you could have lunch with a well-known figure (living or not), who would it be and why? If I could have lunch with a well known figure it would, of course, be Oprah Winfrey. She is such an inspiration for anyone, man or woman. True testimony of being able to reach any goal you set your mind to.

Where is your favorite place to hang out? My favorite place to hang out is definitely at home. It’s my place of peace. I’m always on the go, so when I finally get to plop on my couch, I feel like I have a slice of heaven!

What do you love most about the industry? What I love most about this industry would have to be the clients. I’m still fairly new to the industry, but the people I meet and get to offer services to are so phenomenal. I’ve made many friends in the industry that started out as clients so we will always have a story to tell!

How do you distinguish yourself from the crowd of agents? My clients know that they come first. Nothing is ever hidden from them. I treat them as a friend, so that they know that the service and deal they are getting is the same deal I would give to family. Even if there is something I cant help them with, I find out what needs to be done to get the mission accomplished.

What is the most difficult aspect of your job? Work/life balance. I have none. I’m always on when it comes to my job.

Where do you go to network and meet new clients? Anywhere is an opportunity to network and meet new clients. You never know who you may run into that needs excellent real estate advice and service.

What has been your greatest accomplishment? Obtaining my degree. I worked the entire time I was finishing school and at times it got difficult to do both, but I set a goal, got it done and now I’m completing my graduate degree.

What was the last good movie you saw or book you read? I actually recently saw Gone Girl and I loved it. Complete plot twist!

What is your favorite restaurant? Truluck’s.

Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in Houston? Williams Tower.

What kind of car do you drive? Nissan.

Smartphone or paper? Definitely smartphone!

What is your favorite city after Houston? Miami.

In 10 words or less, what is your advice for someone new to the industry? Find a mentor. Don’t give up! Always give your best!

What’s your favorite real estate iPhone/Android app? My Champions School of Real Estate App!

Who are your favorite people to follow on Twitter?Arian Foster. I love the Texans and he is hilarious!
