Marilyn Thompson, the vice president of sales at Martha Turner Sotheby’s International Realty, will be the brokerage’s new president.

Thompson graduated from Louisiana State University and taught for seven years in Houston public schools. She then began her career in real estate in the 198os, and in 1991, she became sales manager for Martha Turner Properties.

Founder and co-president Martha Turner, and co-president Tom Anderson, will become the chairman emeritus. They will no longer mange the day-to-day  business of they company, and instead will direct their focus to facilitating business development, sales and marketing strategies and being mentors to the senior leadership team.

Other promotions include Robin Conner, who has been promoted to senior vice president, and Robin Suter, who has been promoted to vice president.
