Martha Turner Sotheby’s International Realty has announced that Robin Conner will take over as president and leader of company operations following the departure of Marilyn Thompson, who is retiring after 30 years with the company.
“Robin Conner was a natural choice to assume the role of president and will be an invaluable asset to the company,” notes Philip A. White, president and CEO of Sotheby’s International Realty.
As president, Conner will lead the company’s six Houston offices, as well as nearly 100 independent associates affiliated with Sotheby’s International Realty. Conner brings to the position her 17 years of experience in real estate and 20 years of management experience. She holds such designations as Certified Luxury Homes Marketing Specialist (CLHMS) and Certified Negotiation Expert (CNE).
Conner began her career with Martha Turner Sotheby’s International Realty in 2004 as a sales associate. For her consistent sales record, Conner has been named one of the company’s top ten producers and been named a member of its “Circle of Excellence” and “Hall of Fame.”
Prior to being named president, Conner previously served as a senior vice president with the company, leading the sales and marketing teams, after being tapped for a management role in 2015.
“Robin is known for her integrity and sales associates can rely on her unerring judgement, guidance, and optimism. Marilyn Thompson has put a strong team in place, and I’d like to thank her for her unwavering leadership and invaluable contributions to Martha Turner Sotheby’s International Realty,” said White.
Conner’s predecessor is retiring after celebrating her 30th anniversary with the company. Thompson entered residential real estate sales in the 1980s after many years spent teaching elementary school. She has been a leader at Martha Turner Sotheby’s International Realty since 1991.
During her time with Martha Turner Sotheby’s International Realty, she has supported thousands of agents and cultivated an encyclopedic knowledge of the Houston and national real estate markets, while safeguarding the company’s interests and reputation.
Now ready to pass the torch after a long career, Thompson has given Conner the seal of approval.
“I am very proud of each and every person in our organization and all that we have accomplished over the past 30 years,” said Thompson. “I am retiring in full confidence that Robin Conner and her excellent management team will continue to build on our established success.”
