Windy Hill Development announced that Alan Mueller joined the company as the director of development. A 30-year veteran of the land development industry, Mueller will oversee city planning and zoning for the company’s projects, including master-planned communities, marina estate communities and commercial developments.
A structural engineer by trade, Mueller previously served eight years as deputy city manager in Pearland, addressing the city’s population growth, managing capital projects and leading urban planning efforts. Over the past 20 years, he’s also collaborated with homebuilders including D.R. Horton, Beazer Homes and Gehan Homes.
“Alan’s role was instrumental in managing Pearland’s tremendous expansion in the late 1990s and early 2000s, and his subsequent work partnering with top homebuilders to develop master-planned communities has been essential to the continuous growth of the Houston region,” Randy Hall, principal and CEO of Windy Hill Development, said in a press release. “Alan’s passion for project management, coupled with his land development expertise, is invaluable to Windy Hill as we embark on new ventures and strive to address the growing demand for workforce housing.”
“The strength of Houston’s housing market is a reflection of two key factors: the easing of the intense demand for homes through new construction and the city’s continued job growth, which is attracting a professional workforce,” Mueller said. “Overseeing a land development project from its inception to completion is my passion, and I’m excited to contribute to Windy Hill’s efforts in providing essential housing in the Houston area.”
