Prominent Houston-area builder Century Communities is expanding its local portfolio with the acquisition of Anglia Homes. Anglia Homes’ current assets will transfer to the Century Communities brand.

“We want to congratulate Mike Manners, James Hunter and Thomas Manners for all they have accomplished in building Anglia Homes and welcome the Anglia Homes team to the Century family,” Jim Francescon, executive vice president of Century Communities, said in a press release.

“We’re excited to continue on our strong track record of growth with our second homebuilder acquisition this year and the ninth in Century’s history,” added Chief Financial Officer Scott Dixon. “Houston has been one of our strongest-performing metro areas for the past 10 years, and we’re confident that Anglia Homes is the perfect addition to continue executing our strategy of profitable growth with high-quality, affordable single-family homes in this dynamic market.”

I worked for Anglia which used to be Royce Homes. Thomas Manners is Mike Manners son. He got the job because of daddy. There was a situation where the head guy’s credit card got overdrawn for the safety materials I bought which I repeatedly told him about. He chose to believe that he was being ripped off and blame everyone else except himself.
On my first day I went into James Hunter’s office and told him the water in the bathroom won’t shutoff. He looked right at me, squinted, and said ‘Do I look like a f&*$%ing plumber to you?’
They told everyone on their first day that the company manual was their bible. It was referring to cedar in the doorways and other things that were outdated but they refused to change it because they didn’t know how. It was the old manual from Royce.
