The affordable Huffman area saw a huge jump in popularity during the first quarter of the year, jumping to the top of the Hottest Communities in the Houston Area report from the Houston Association of REALTORS®.
Sales increased 177.1% year over year, representing the largest annual jump of any Houston-area community. Huffman previously ranked No. 11 in the fourth quarter of 2025.
The community had an average sales price of $247,006 — well below the Houston-area average of $420,510. In fact, seven of the top 10 Houston communities had average sales prices below the area average.
HAR also noted that 70% of transactions in Huffman, Brookshire, Waller, Crosby and Magnolia/1488 West were new construction.
“We are seeing a shift toward communities where buyers have more flexibility — both in terms of inventory and price points,” said HAR Chair Theresa Hill. “Affordability is still one of the biggest factors influencing buyer behavior right now. Communities that can offer that value are the ones seeing the strongest momentum.”
