Several of the fastest-growing ZIP codes in the country are located in the greater Houston area, according to a new study from RentCafe.
The fastest-growing Texas ZIP was 77441 in Fulshear, which grew from 2,100 housing units in 2014 to over 10,600 units in 2023 — a 390.8% increase. The population surged sixfold during that time.
Also on the rise during the past decade was the 77493 ZIP in Katy, where the housing supply increased 150.9% (from 8,191 units to 20,552), and the 77407 ZIP in Richmond, where the supply jumped 122.8% (from 11,350 units to 25,284).
RentCafe predicts several nearby ZIPs are set to become the fastest growing of the next decade. The 77447 ZIP code in Hockley saw a 73% population increase during the past decade, as well as a 41% increase in highly educated residents and a 34% increase in the area median income — all promising indicators of future growth.
Also on RentCafe’s list for future growth are 77365 in Porter and 77316 in Montgomery.
