Every week, we ask a real estate professional for their Short List, a collection of tips and recommendations on an essential topic in real estate. This week, we talked with Raymond Garcia, a Realtor with Ryan’s Real Estate Brokers, who shared his tips for how to be a better agent.
3. Send out holiday cars for every occasion. Nowadays they make a card for every occasion and national holiday. The card can’t run more than $2.00-$3.00, and they go along way. Most companies’ agents will have them or some sort of template that you can use to maybe design your own. Also, remember the one year anniversary of the home when it was purchased and send a personal card then, as well.
2. Utilize free websites. There are many websites where you can create a personal page for free. Also, send out mailers to your immediate neighborhood. Most real estate brokerages. in my experience, will cover half of the cost for your personal mailers if you ask. That’s a great and inexpensive way to market in your neighborhood. Consistency is key.
1. You can’t distinguish yourself from an agent who has been in the business 20-plus years. The best you can do is align yourself with them, make them think you are eager to learn and knowledgeable and hope they are looking to retire soon.
