Melinda Gaylor Gordon
Seeing the gleam in clients’ eyes when they find their dream home, submitting the winning bid in a multiple-offer situation and helping a seller transition to the next phase of their lives are gratifying moments for Melinda Gaylor Gordon.
A licensed Realtor with Bernstein Realty, and a native Houstonian, Gordon grew up in a family-owned commercial real estate and retail business and spent 28 years as vice president of Al’s Formal Wear before switching careers.
“I understood residential real estate requires a lot of time,” she says. “I wanted to make the move when I knew I had the time to make my clients’ real estate transactions my number one priority.” When that time finally came, she was ready to take on her real estate business and was determined to help her clients in any way she needed to.
Gordon serves the greater Houston area, assisting anyone seeking a new home, whether they’re first-time or luxury buyers, sellers, investors, renters, landlords or apartment seekers. With investors, she is often up against multiple offers. “Once, my clients lost out at their first go-around,” she says. “But I kept an eye on the subdivision and found the same property was for sale only 30 days later. They were able to pick it up that time and were so excited.”
Gordon has received multiple awards, including Bernstein Realty’s 2019 Top Leasing Agent and 2018 Shining Star and the Houston Chronicle’sRealtor of the Week, as well as the designations of Accredited Buyer’s Representative and Social Media Pro from the Houston Association of Realtors. “I have made so many new friendships from this career,” she says. “You really get to know people on such a close level; those friendships are a treasure and one of the many perks of my business.” Gordon and her husband, Steve, have three grown children, and they love to support their local sports teams.
