A high social IQ is the number one tool in Ken Jones’ arsenal. He considers himself a “low-pressure” agent — his clients frequently express appreciation for his calm and assertive demeanor, as well as his ability to support them throughout their decision-making process.
“I get a lot of personal gratification from helping growing families find the space and community that works for them,” Jones shares. “This is a business full of very large egos and I work hard to keep mine out of a transaction.”
Jones comes from a multi-generational Houstonian family, although he did live in Southeast Asia for much of his childhood. “Houston has always been home,” he says. “I have deep roots in Texas.”
Jones started getting his hands dirty in the home industry at a young age, helping to repair and maintain rental properties while in college. But he’s always had an entrepreneurial spirit, and even started several small businesses as a kid including lawncare and gumball machines. “It seemed natural to enroll in real estate courses,” he says. “I’ve never looked back!”
A skilled market analyst, negotiator and sales strategist, Jones sets his clients up for success by listening to their goals and creating actionable steps to achieve those goals. While he has eighteen years of experience and is known for his cool confidence under pressure, he says there’s always more to learn. “It’s a whole lot easier to effectively solve problems when you’ve had similar experiences in the past, but it’s very true that there are no two transactions that are the same,” he says. “Even with nearly 20 years in, I would never claim to have ‘seen it all.’”
