Summer Sales Increase for Woodforest

by Houston Agent

Woodforest posted a summer sales increase.

It’s been a good year for Woodforest, the master-planned community located along a Montgomery golf course. This year’s new home sales show an almost 20 percent increase over last year’s through early September.

Woodforest, a project of the Johnson Development Corp., posted 86 sales through Sept. 4 compared to the 72 homes sold through Sept. 4, 2010. They have also secured 45 sales since June 5, while in 2010 had fewer than 20 after June.

“We’ve enjoyed a strong summer, with builders seeing a particularly strong response to new models opening,” said Virgil Yoakum, general manager of Woodforest. “Darling Homes has had 10 sales since it opened a model at the end of May and Coventry Homes has reported five sales since the June opening of its model home.”

Woodforest homes range from $150,000 to over $1 million. The community had its first full year of sales last fall.
