Texas Realtors Relief Fund Reaches Out to Wildfire Victims

by Houston Agent

Wildfires throughout the state of Texas have been a major problem since December 2010. Fortunately, the Texas Realtors Relief Fund is extending a helping hand towards wildfire victims.

The Texas Realtors Relief Fund is now accepting applications for financial assistance from victims of recent Texas wildfires. In order to qualify for assistance, an applicant must be a current member of the Texas Association of Realtors whose primary residence (owned or leased) has been damaged or destroyed by wildfires within the last year. Residences must be in a state or federally declared natural disaster area.

Donations are also being accepted at this time. Those interested in donating to the financial assistance of wildfire victims may do so at any time. Contributions are tax deductible, and can be sent to the following address:

Texas REALTORS Relief Fund
P.O. Box 2246
Austin, TX 78768-2246

Stacy Armijo, columnist and public relations professional for the Texas Association of Realtors, fully supports the relief fund’s decision to offer aid to wildfire victims. “Unfortunately, we can’t control Mother Nature. However, we can control how we respond to what she dishes out. After seeing our response to this disaster, I am one very proud Texan,” Armijo wrote in a recent column.

Since it was created, the Texas Realtors Relief Fund has provided more than $1,100,000 in assistance to Texans troubled by natural disasters. For more information on applying for aid and sending donations, please visit http://texasrealestate.com/web/Relief.cfm
