Bridgeland Community Celebrates Five Years of Success

by Houston Agent

The award-winning Bridgeland community celebrates five successful years this week.

The Bridgeland multi-community development in Cypress, Texas, has much to celebrate as its 5-year anniversary approaches.  In its short history, Bridgeland has won both the Community of the Year award in the 2010 Silver Awards, and The Nationals 2009 Gold Award given by the National Association of Home Builders , as well as the Developer of the Year award featured in the 2010 Houston’s Best.

Moreover, housing consultant Metrostudy recently reported that Bridgeland is currently ranked fourth for sales throughout the Houston-area master-planned communities and is ranked 12th in the nation.

“We have a strong foundation for this 25-year project,” says Bridgeland’s Vice President, Peter Houghton. “We have built a thriving community and sales continue to be vigorous, up eleven percent from last year. We look forward to what is on the horizon.”

To celebrate its 5-year anniversary, Bridgeland is giving away a basket of birthday goodies, including a gift certificate for a birthday cake from Debbie’s Delectables. During the weekend of Oct. 14-16, visitors at Bridgeland’s Welcome Center can enjoy birthday refreshments and register to win the basket, to be given away on Oct. 17.

Bridgeland first opened its door in 2006 with The Shores community and has since expanded to reach neighborhoods in four other communities; First Bend, The Cove, Water Haven, and Lakeland Heights. Bridgeland currently has more than 1,400 homes and is home to over 4,500 residents.

Bridgeland features more than just neighborhoods – over the past five years the community has built an array of parks and amenities for local residents, including the Lakeland Activity Center, one of four planned recreation complexes. The 6,000 square-foot community center comes with a fitness center, two lighted tennis courts, two playgrounds and a resort-style water park. Residents also enjoy a variety of outdoor activities along the Cypress Creek Nature Trail.
