About 30 miles west of downtown Houston, in the town of Katy, two established builders have begun work on Avalon at Spring Green, a new, 200-house gated community.

According to a recent report from The Rancher, Coventry Homes and Taylor Morrison have started construction on model homes, which should be accessible to interested buyers this fall.

The gated community is west of Gaston Road and Katy Flewellen, the report said, adding that a large number of the homes will surround a lake.

James Miller, regional president of McGuyer Homebuilders, Inc., which owns Coventry Homes, told The Rancher that the community’s location will attract residents.

“The newly opened Spring Green Boulevard offers direct access to Interstate 10, putting residents minutes from Katy’s recreational offerings and the Energy Corridor,” Miller told The Rancher. “With privacy gates and luxurious homes, Avalon at Spring Green will be an elegant oasis in the nearby hustle and bustle.”

Aside from a community lake, the report said residents will also have access to a putting green, walking paths and a pavilion. The Rancher reported that pricing information will be revealed this fall.
