The 6 Assorted Reasons that People Prefer New or Existing Homes

by Peter Thomas Ricci

Some consumers prefer newly built homes, while other prefer existing residences; why is that?

It’s always been a give-in that some consumers will prefer newly built homes while others opt for an existing residence, but an interesting new survey by the restless folks at Trulia has shed some light on why consumers opt for a specific kind of property.

According to Trulia’s survey, which sampled more than 2,000 people, for homes that are the same price, two out of five (41 percent) either strongly or somewhat preferred a newly built home, with 21 percent preferring an existing home and 38 percent having no preference.
