Caldwell Cos. Reveals Plans for Newest Lakeside Project

by Laura Barker

Dream of driving your motorboat to work? Caldwell Cos. is making that dream into a reality in the outline for its newest Houston mixed-use project, The Boardwalk at Towne Lake.

Caldwell Cos, a Houston-based developer, recently released an animated video of the renderings for the new project. The plans show several docks for resident boats and boat taxis and four large buildings that will provide 150,000 square feet of shops, offices and patio restaurants. Tentative plans include a boutique hotel with a lakeside pool and bar.

The Boardwalk at Towne Lake is the first mixed-use development for the master plan of Towne Lake. Anchored by a 300-acre lake, this larger development already has already opened some of their buildings, such as the 124,000 square foot grocery store and Arium Towne Lake, a 366-unit multifamily project. Most of the development is under construction or still in the planning phase, such as the 90-bed senior living facility, lakeside pavilion with a 1,500-seat amphitheater and cottages and townhomes.

The Boardwalk at Towne Lake, which is currently under construction, is planned to be open in spring 2016.
