Amazon Echo introduces Agent Neo, real estate matchmaking app

by Alison McAvoy

On top of playing your favorite music and giving you weather reports, Amazon’s Alexa is adding a new skill to her vast voice-activated repertoire — helping users buy and sell homes.

Agent Neo, a new real estate app on Amazon, can help users perform any task related to buying, selling or booking a showing, all with a few simple voice commands. Inman reported that users can tell Alexa the address of any home they want to see as well as the day and time they’d like to see it, and based on the user’s preferences, Alexa will suggest the names of available Realtors who have partnered with the app, as well as their contact information and visual profiles.

By partnering with the app, real estate agents can advertise their services to interested buyers, stay up to date on any new leads, and get instant notifications about any appointments made by clients.

Another useful feature of Agent Neo is its ability to approximate home values upon command. It’s linked with Zillow, thus has access to personalized listing information for users, such as locality, budget, size of the desired house, room preferences and loan pre-approvals, all to “make home searching a fun experience.”

Still in its early stages of development, Agent Neo will only be available for Amazon Echo products, such as Dot, Tap and Show. Its services are free and will not charge users to be connected to the housing market.

What I can’t find out is whether, as a real estate agent, if I have to own an Alexa device to participate or can I just join AgentNeo?

  • Neha says:

Replying to the comment below. The Echo is only for the clients. The Agents get their leads via email and sms. So you don’t need to own an echo.
