Legend Communities announces general contractor for The Residences at Tiki Island

by Lindsey Wells

Texas-based Legend Communities has named Ludlow and Associates Construction the general contractor for The Residences at Tiki Island, a mixed-use residential project located on Tiki Island near Galveston.

The approximately $86 million waterfront resort will feature eight villas and two-, three- and four-bedroom condominium units ranging from 1,200 to more than 3,000 square feet. Condo pricing starts in the $800,000s. Two-story penthouses are available on the top floor, including elevators in founding members’ residences.

Elevators will be offered as an optional feature for buyers outside of the founders’ incentive, which is currently being offered for early buyers, according to a press release.

“We are confident that Ludlow and Associates Construction will be a great asset to the team,” said Bill Hayes, chief operating officer of Legend Communities. “Ludlow really stood out as being incredibly knowledgeable, and their attention to detail and quality of work is impeccable. We know that having their talented team on board will help us continue to drive sales.”

Legend Communities expects to break ground on the project this summer, with a completion date anticipated for the summer of 2024.

Residents will also have access to a wide range of unique amenities, including a fitness center, resort-style pool, outdoor kitchen and lounge area and dog park. In addition, the golf cart-friendly property will offer walkability and a boat valet to accommodate easy water access.

“We are honored to have been awarded this project,” said Mark Ludlow, president of Ludlow and Associates Construction. “We specialize in condos; we most recently completed The Revere, a boutique condominium development in Houston, but this will be our first ‘coastal’ development. We’re really looking forward to working on a project of this size and uniqueness.”
