Derek Goff named vice president and general manager of new Johnson Development community

by Emily Marek

Johnson Development named Derek Goff vice president and general manager of a newly announced master-planned community in Fort Bend County. Goff was previously the manager for Sienna in Missouri City.

Goff’s promotion comes after the company’s acquisition of 1,500 acres of land from The George Foundation. In his new role, he’ll be responsible for day-to-day operations at the community to be developed on the land.

“Derek has had consistent success in the development of Sienna,” Michael Smith, president and CEO of Johnson Development, said in a press release. “He is the perfect choice to guide development of this new community by continuing the excellence we’ve demonstrated in our other Fort Bend communities while preserving the legacy of The George Ranch.”

Goff has 20 years of experience in residential real estate, including 10 years with Johnson Development. Prior to joining Johnson Development, he worked as a land development construction manager for Meritage Homes, a project representative for LJA Engineering and an associate with TBG Partners.

“It’s been a privilege to manage the many development aspects of Sienna,” said Goff. “I’m looking forward to working with the rest of the team to create a community unlike any other that residents will be proud to call their home.”

Allison Bond, who has served as Sienna’s marketing director since 2016, will assume the role of development manager in Sienna. Morghan Powell, a member of Johnson Development’s marketing team since 2017, was named the new Sienna marketing director.
