Johnson Development unveiled plans for Ricestead, a 20-acre amenity project at the Grange master-planned community in Katy.

Plans include a central gathering place for concerts, farmers markets, seasonal events and more, plus a clubhouse, playground, fitness center, coworking area, conference room, two pools and six pickleball courts.

“Ricestead will be far more than an amenity center,” Jacob Rice, vice president and general manager of Grange, said in a press release. “Our vision is for it to become the heart of the community — a modern-day town square where neighbors will naturally come together.”

Developers will break ground in mid-2026, with the complex slated to open the following year.
