Starting her real estate career 20 years ago, Courtney Williams worked in apartment leasing and property management before moving into new construction. “It felt like the next step, but I was more drawn to helping people than I was to representing a corporate builder,” she explains. “Being a Realtor was definitely the natural progression for me.”
Now a team lead for The W Group at Compass, Williams works with luxury clients, first-time homebuyers, as well as move-up and downsize sellers throughout Houston Heights, Bellaire, Spring Branch, the Inner Loop, Memorial, Tanglewood, West University Place, River Oaks, Garden Oaks, Oak Forest, Memorial West, Montrose and the Rice Museum District. A lifelong Houston resident, she has deep market knowledge of the city.
“While every experience is different, nothing really surprises me anymore,” Williams shares. “I’m prepared for almost every kind of outcome.” She credits her success to her ability to listen and ask clarifying questions.
Recognized among the top 1% of agents in Houston for the past six years, Williams received the Five Star Professional award for eight consecutive years. She learned her work ethic and professionalism from her father, who was an assistant special agent in charge with the FBI, and her mother, a principal with Klein Independent School District.
As the leader of The W Group, Williams appreciates approaching situations from other agents’ perspectives. “It’s a great reminder that collaboration is key, including [with] real estate agents outside of my team,” she points out. “We are all here to help clients buy or sell a home, so we need to help each other accomplish that.”
Williams enjoys gymnastics, tennis, weightlifting and traveling. Her dog, Finley, is 11 years old and starred in a play at the Alley Theatre in 2021.
