David Assid, a 37-year veteran of the Houston homebuilding industry, was named president of First America Homes’ Houston division.
Assid was previously Houston division president at Chesmar Homes. Prior to that, he was with Toll Brothers for 24 years, serving in multiple leadership roles including Houston division president.
“As a privately owned company, First America Homes is a business driven by strong values and a focus on what matters most — delivering quality products and helping buyers achieve their dream of homeownership,” Assid said in a press release. “I am excited to contribute to its growth and success.”
In his new role, Assid will oversee First America Homes’ building operations across the greater Houston area, including projects in master-planned communities like Bellamina in Waller and Bluestem in Brookshire.
“We’re excited to welcome David to First America Homes. I don’t think we could have found a more perfect leader for our ambitious plans for this dynamic market,” said President John Winniford. “David brings an abundance of industry knowledge and experience in the Houston [metro]. These intangibles will serve us well as we pursue enhancing brand awareness and increasing market share.”
First America Homes is the homebuilding arm of The Signorelli Company, which is currently developing 13 master-planned communities including Austin Point in Fort Bend County and Valley Ranch in Montgomery County.
