The team of Calvin Easterday and Brandon Boyd took home the gold medal at the recent Hometown Hoedown Cornament benefitting the continuing efforts of the Texas Sentinels Foundation.

Co-chaired by Realtor Carol Knott of RE/MAX The Woodlands & Spring and Jeanne Toth, manager at The Woodlands Development Co., the event sold out the 64-team Cornament, raising $16,000 towards the raise awareness about the Texas Sentinels Foundation, a service that offers assistance to wounded veterans.

“Several companies came together to support this worthwhile cause,” Knott said. “In addition to Jeanne and myself, Becky Vance of RE/MAX Hometown, Eric Depoy of Keller Williams, Brian Mathieson of Texas Sign Boss, and Bob Earl and Erin Ciaravino of Core Lending were instrumental in soliciting sponsors and teams. We chose cornhole as a fundraiser so anyone, young or old and with any skill level could participate. The event also offered families an opportunity to have fun while learning more about the soldiers the foundation benefits.”

The next Texas Sentinels Foundation fundraiser, Operation Tight Lines, is a saltwater fishing tournament scheduled for Aug. 22 at the Harborwalk Yacht Club in Hitchcock. For information on sponsoring the tournament or to register to participate, visit texassentinels.org.
