In the days leading up to Black Friday, which of course is now behind us for the year, eagerness bubbles up among bargain hunters as they lace up their midnight sneakers and check shopping lists to decide which discount they want more: a toaster at 25 percent of cost or half off at Kenneth Cole. What most people don’t realize is those same kinds of deals are also available in real estate, according to Zillow.

In a recent report, the listings portal drew its data from two metrics: “the actual home discount as a percentage of the original listing price, and the percentage of listings with a recent price cut, as of September 2015.”

While Houston failed to make an appearance on Zillow’s list of cities with the biggest home discounts, the Bayou City did steal the No. 7 spot in terms of price cuts, with 21 percent of listings offering a discount – just behind Phoenix, Jacksonville and Milwaukee.
