Heritage Texas Properties Goes Paperless with SureClose Software

by Houston Agent

The successful adoption by Heritage Texas Properties of the Electronic Transaction Solution (HAR-ETS) to go paperless was announced by PropertyInfo Corporation, a Stewart company. The paperless utility is powered by SureClose software and owned by Stewart Transaction Solutions.

The recent agreement between PropertyInfo and the Houston Association of Realtors (HAR) to tailor SureClose software for Houston-area real estate professionals, hasl helped HAR’S HAR-ETS increase efficiencies for several of the company’s 24,000 real estate professionals and their clients. The software has facilitated companies like Heritage Texas Properties to remove paper from the closing process.

In 2011, HAR introduced the new platform but in January 2012 the technology was made available for its real estate professionals. The software allows users access to transaction documents anywhere at anytime through mobile applications with Apple and Android devices.  This brings efficiencies and conveniences to members by eliminating the paper files, which can be costly to maintain and time consuming to use.

Heritage Texas Properties immediately took advantage of the software to build on its already successful business within its 13-offices and 3,500-agent operation. The company began processing 100 percent of its files on the new platform in February after the approval of their agents.  Heritage Texas staff anticipates a future that includes easy access and timely managed files.

“Heritage Texas Properties is committed to providing our customers with the most efficient and economical solutions available, and HAR’s Electronic Transaction Solution powered by SureClose has enabled us to vastly increase our service levels quickly within the first few months,” said Bill Jones, senior vice president of Heritage Texas Properties. “The 24/7 access to our transaction files, and the convenience of accessing them through mobile devices, have resulted in improved efficiencies that enable us to better serve our customers.”

Various HAR members are currently taking advantage of the new digital system to improve their own business and so is the real estate industry as a whole.

“PropertyInfo is constantly improving our products to better serve our customers, and this partnership on the HAR-ETS software has enabled us to provide tangible benefits to Houston-area real estate professionals,” said Tom Groom, chief technology officer, SVP real estate segment of PropertyInfo Corporation. “We are delighted to see Heritage Texas Properties benefit so greatly from the HAR-ETS software in such a short period of time, and we expect that other HAR members will see similar benefits in the coming months.”

With the initial success with HAR-ETS, Heritage will soon start using the software to work together with outside parties such as title companies, inspectors, sellers and homebuyers.
