Dawn Bajalieh is a Realtor with RE/MAX who works in The Woodlands, Conroe, Magnolia and the Northeast area.

What was your first job in the realty industry?
Prior to becoming a licensed Realtor, I was in property management and investing.

Where did you grow up?
I was born in New York and relocated to Texas when I was 17 years old. Texas is my home.

What is your favorite free-time activity?
Gardening, meeting new people and cooking.

What do you do to relax when you’re stressed?
I cook, shop, paint, garden and clean.

Growing up, what did you want to be?
Sounds crazy, but a wife and a mother.

If you could have lunch with a well-known figure (living or not), who would it be and why?
I would like to meet Temple Grandin; her accomplishments and achievements are beyond amazing. She is a fascinating individual, and I applaud all the obstacles she has overcome and conquered.

Where is your favorite place to hang out?
I believe it would depend on the day I have had. I love to be outside enjoying nature or sipping wine at How U Doin Tavern.

What do you love most about the industry?
Meeting new people and helping procure their dreams in finding the perfect home, especially families or individuals relocating to the Houston area or first-time homebuyers; they are so excited and have so much to learn about both the purchase and long-term responsibility of homeownership.

How do you distinguish yourself from the crowd of agents?
I have goals in my profession, and these goals aren’t about how big a home I sold or how expensive it was; rather, they it is the impression I make, the knowledge I have to offer and the responsibility and loyalty I have to my client in meeting all their needs, from finding a home, helping them secure their loan and then finding honest and experienced professionals to make their transaction smooth and complete.

Whether it be a sale, a purchase or lease, each client will receive the utmost professionalism and service. My goal is to secure long-term, lasting relationships with my clients, so they can say, “I have the best Realtor.”

What is the most difficult aspect of your job?
The most difficult aspect of my job would be dealing with an agent who doesn’t have his or her client’s best interest at heart and doesn’t follow through during the transaction; it definitely makes my job harder.

Where do you go to network and meet new clients?
I take any opportunity wherever I go to network. Restaurants, doctor appointments, school functions, shopping, volunteering. In our profession, every person you meet is an opportunity to network.

What has been your greatest accomplishment?
In my personal life, having a wonderful husband and children. In my professional life, I have won many awards, such as Family Time Women of Achievement, Five Star Real Estate Professional spotlighted in Texas Monthly magazine, 100% club and Volunteer of the Year. I would have to say the greatest accomplishment was starting a non-profit that was a family event every year in the town center park for Easter. The proceeds went to adults and children with disabilities.

What was the last good movie you saw or book you read?
I read mostly for education, and P.S I Love You was a great movie.

What is your favorite restaurant?
Italiano’s in Humble.

Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in Houston?
Rice University.

What kind of car do you drive?

What is your favorite city after Houston?
Monte Carlo.

What is your advice for someone new to the industry?
Never meet a stranger. Seize every moment.
