The Houston Association of Realtors (HAR) has honored Christi Borden of Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Gary Greene with the association’s 2013 Realtor of the Year award. HAR 2013 Chair Danny Frank presented the award to Borden during a Dec. 12 ceremony at the Houston Country Club.

“I am deeply honored to be recognized by my peers for my contributions to the profession,” said Borden, who is with Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Gary Greene’s Katy office. “I’ve been fortunate to build a successful business, and it’s very nice to receive this validation.”

Borden, who is a relocation specialist, helps clients market and sell residential properties throughout greater Houston, focusing on the Katy/West Houston area. She will be celebrating her tenth year in the industry, and with Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Gary Greene, next month.

“Christi is one of those who doesn’t know the word can’t,” Frank said. “She just goes and goes and goes. Christi really exudes confidence and looks out for everyone involved in this industry.”

When selecting a recipient for the Realtor of the Year Award, HAR considers a candidate’s volume of total sales and his/her involvement in both the community and his/her firm. “Christi was at the top of her game in all of those areas,” Frank said.

Mark Woodroof, partner with Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Gary Greene, agrees. “Christi Borden is one of our top-producing Realtors, plus she is very active in the community and in the real estate industry. She not only does it all, she excels at it all, so it is not surprising that she was chosen for this high honor by the Houston Association of Realtors. We are proud to have her on our team.”

Borden has been volunteering for HAR for over six years, recently completing her second term on its Board. She is the incoming chairperson for HAR’s Technology Advisory Group, and will be representing HAR as one of 33 Texas Real Estate Political Action Committee (TREPAC) trustees. At the state level, Borden is now in her third three-year term with the Texas Association of Realtors (TAR). She will be serving as chairperson of the organization’s TREPAC Orientation Subcommittee, liaison to its Technology Committee and as a member of its Professional Standards Committee. Borden also works at events on behalf of The Sunshine Kids; raises money for The Krause Center, a center for children in need; and administers the Facebook page for the Lost or Found Pets in Katy.
