Spring selling season is off to a strong start in Houston, as home sales soared 23% in March compared to the previous month. 

According to the latest Rocket Homes market report, Realtors sold 2,251 homes last month, up from February’s 1,830.

Homes are selling for 11.2% more than they did during March 2021. Last month, the median sales price of a Houston home was $324,881, a $32,769 year-over-year increase.

Homes are also selling quicker than they did a year ago. In March, homes remained on the market for an average of 37 days, down from 45 days during the same month last year, a 17.2% drop.

New listings also received a much-needed boost in March. Houston’s number of homes for sale rose 5% month over month, from 7,354 to 7,720, the report noted.
